We are a family established and operated business which was started in 2004 with the purchase of our first fuel truck. Our eagerness to better accommodate our customers advanced to the addition of a propane truck and technicians. With a history of hard work in his background and sense of bravery in a very competitive market, John started Acadia Fuel & Marine, LLC in 2006 in order to barge our products to outer islands. Along with running everyday operations of fuel delivery, John and three employees of our team who have years of experience delivering fuel, lobstering, and working wharfs, all obtained their Captain’s licenses. Today, we are proud to continue business with these same employees carrying the titles of Merchant Marine Officers and who are also licensed in all areas of fuel & propane delivery and propane operations. Acadia Fuel employees are not only experts but share our same hard work ethic. Although we call Mount Desert Island “Home,” we knew that Trenton would be a great welcoming town to expand and is now “Home” for our second office building, distribution center, and propane bulk plant. With four fuel trucks and two propane trucks, you can see us delivering to all of Hancock County, outer islands, and areas of Washington County. When not in use for our own business, you may see the barge carrying other business’s trucks or equipment as it is put out to hire and has traveled locally and along the east coast to Canada. Acadia Fuel delivers to residences, boats, and businesses. Year round we provide fuel, propane, kerosene, diesel products, and bulk gasoline to commercial accounts. Our summers are just as busy as the winters as we continue to install heating systems, keep the fisherman fueled, hotels supplied, and deliver to the best of the best restaurants with propane. With a team made up of 10 employees who are either family members or friends we have known all our lives , we have grown to a team you can trust to provide the best service. Acadia Fuel has established a reputation that exceeded our hopes of having a successful business. What started as a way to provide for our own family and a service to keep our friends and neighbors warm, quickly grew to be known as the most dependable and trustworthy company to call first for all your fuel needs.
