MOUNT DESERT — Each winter, John Williams boatyard in Hall Quarry is reunited with several of its famed Stanley lobster yachts. This year, Gambol, a Stanley 36 from Northeast Harbor (built in 1980 by John Williams) has returned to the yard for a major refit; new cockpit deck, and a complete varnish and strip job.
BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island High School swim team sped past Presque Isle on Friday in a dual meet. The MDI girls allowed Presque Isle only one first-place finish (in the 50-yard freestyle) out of 12 events. And the MDI boys gave up first-place finishes in only two events (the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard freestyle).

The Trojans are revving up. The players have been chosen and the schedule is set. The MDI boys will play their first regular-season game against Washington Academy in East Machias on Friday at 7 p.m.
BUCKSPORT — The Mount Desert Island High School wrestling team had its first scrimmage against Bucksport High School on Saturday. According to head coach Chip Dugans, the Trojans used the opportunity to scrape away some off season rust.
