ORONO — The Mount Desert Island High School track team posted four school records at the Penobscot Valley Conference Eastern Maine indoor track league meet at the University of Maine field house last weekend.

BAR HARBOR — The Mount Desert Island High School wrestling team is headed to the Penobscot Valley Conference championships after hosting the final regular season tournament, on Saturday.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Southwest Harbor sloop pioneer, 76-year-old Jarvis Newman, is hard at work this winter with longtime pal Miff Lauriat. The two are working side by side on iconic Down East Friendship Sloops.

ORONO — Caroline Driscoll broke the Mount Desert Island High School record for a freshman’s performance in the indoor track 800-meter run during a Penobscot Valley Conference Eastern Maine Indoor Track League meet at the University of Maine fieldhouse on Saturday. She finished in sixth place with a time of 2:37.93.
