TREMONT — The skeleton of an unidentified wooden schooner is slowly disappearing into the muddy inter-tidal zone here. The official location is being kept secret and the history of the timbers scattered along the shoreline is a complete mystery.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Cuyler Morris, president of Morris Yachts, says the forthcoming Morris Memorial Regatta is an “exclamation point” in celebration of his late father, Tom Morris, the founder of Morris Yachts who passed away in 2008.

AUGUSTA — The Acadian Little League All-star baseball team advanced to the semifinal round of the state tournament for ages 9 and 10 with an 18-12 win over Camden-Rockport on Monday at Augusta’s Linscott Field.

BAR HARBOR — Acadian advanced to the state tournament with a 15-9 District 1 championship win over Ellsworth on Tuesday.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The University of Maine baseball team will host the first Acadia Region baseball camp at the Pemetic School next Monday through Thursday, for students age 7 to 12.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The 15th annual Hospice Regatta of Maine will unite skippers of powerboat and sailboats from across Maine July 15 to 17, to raise awareness and funds for the Hospice of Hancock County in Ellsworth.

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Scott Martin of Bass Harbor spent July 10 covered in paint and turpentine, trying to get his 32-foot Friendship sloop Eden seaworthy and into the water for “her big day” he said.

Lawrence Hodgkins’ 42-foot lobster boat, the Stephanie Diane, is anchored for the first time on area bookshelves in a work by Bar Harbor photographer Susan Raab, who profiled Mr. Hodgkins and his sternman, Molly Damon, in her new book, “A Day in the life of a Maine Lobsterman.”
