BLUE HILL — The Trenton Acadians wrapped up a disappointing American Legion Zone 1 baseball season on Thursday, finishing with a record of 4-17 after splitting a doubleheader with Calais.

BLUE HILL — Righthander Dennis O’Neil pitched a complete game six-hitter for Trenton but was outmatched by Tim Barnes, who allowed just two hits in pitching Calais to a 3-1 win on Thursday.

DOVER-FOXCROFT — A three-run homer by Josh Gale in the first inning gave the Trenton Acadians a lead they never relinquished in a 6-3 win over Penquis on Tuesday.

LINCOLN — On Sunday, the host Lumber rallied from a 9-7 deficit with five runs in the eighth inning to down the Acadians 12-9.

BLUE HILL — In a doubleheader on Saturday against Bangor’s Motor City squad, Trenton Acadians pitchers were shelled for 26 hits in the two games.

BANGOR — The Trenton Acadians grabbed an early lead but couldn’t hold it in a 4-2 loss to the Bangor Comrades, who sit atop the Zone 1 standings.

BLUE HILL — Righthander Dennis O’Neil pitched a complete game three-hitter as the Trenton Acadians claimed their first win, downing the Hampden-Newport Riverdogs 4-2 on Tuesday.

BUCKSPORT — Righthander Tim Nason pitched five innings of shutout ball with five strikeouts as the Brewer Falcons downed the Acadians 6-1 on Thursday.

BLUE HILL — On Tuesday, Lincoln came up with two runs in the top of the eighth inning to snap a 2-2 tie and down the Acadians 8-6.

BANGOR — Motor City came up with a run in the seventh inning as Ryan Carr tripled and scored to edge the Trenton Acadians 9-8 on Sunday.

HAMPDEN — The Hampden Riverdogs rolled to a doubleheader sweep over the Trenton Acadians on Saturday, winning the first game 8-4 and the second 12-8.

BLUE HILL — In the Trenton Acadians season opener on Friday, the Bangor Comrades romped to an 18-1 win, pounding out 21 hits while the Acadians managed just one — a single by Dennis O’Neil.

BLUE HILL — Tryouts for the Trenton Acadian American Legion baseball team will be held Sundays, May 22 and June 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the George Stevens Academy baseball field.

BANGOR — The Trenton Acadians made an early exit for the American Legion Zone 1 tournament, falling 9-5 to the Hampden-Newport Riverdogs on Thursday at the Winkin Complex at Husson University.

BLUE HILL — The Trenton Acadians already had clinched third place in the American Legion Zone 1 baseball standings before they took the field for a doubleheader against the Steamboat Paddlers of Searsport on Monday.

BLUE HILL — Righthander Seth Cote pitched a rain-shortened five-inning shutout, allowing just four hits, as Trenton downed Brewer 6-0 on Sunday.

CALAIS — The Trenton Acadians split a doubleheader with Calais on Thursday, winning the first game 6-5 and losing the nightcap 5-4.
