ELLSWORTH — After losing their first three games, the Ellsworth Eagles notched a 4-2 win over the Hermon Hawks, while the Mount Desert Island Trojans, Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners and Sumner Tigers all were defeated in Monday night action.
BANGOR — The Trojans lost their second straight 1-0 shutout on Monday as John Bapst’s Kate Gerow scored the game’s only goal midway through the second half.
DEER ISLE — Esther Adams and Abigail Grindle scored first-half goals for the Mariners but they weren’t quite enough as the Bangor Christian Patriots eked out a 3-2 win on Monday.
SEARSPORT — The host Vikings romped to an 11-0 win over the Tigers on Monday at Searsport, thanks largely to three-goal performances by Olivia Quigley and Kali Berenyi.
ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Eagle boys improved their record to 3-0 last Thursday with a 4-0 soccer win over Hermon but had to settle for a 1-1 tie against the Presque Isle Wildcats on Saturday.
DEER ISLE — The Mariners upped their record to 3-1 on Saturday as they rolled over the Searsport Vikings 9-0 at Deer Isle.
EAST MILLINOCKET — The Tigers claimed their first win of the season on Saturday, getting a pair of goals from Gabe O’Brien in a 3-2 win over the Schenck Wolverines.
BAR HARBOR — Cameron Anderson scored with just 6.5 seconds to go, dashing MDI’s hopes of a tie and giving the Caribou Vikings a 2-1 win on Saturday.
AUGUSTA — The MDI Trojans traveled to Cony High School for a doubleheader on Saturday and took their first loss of the season.
