ELLSWORTH — A training session titled “Understanding the Person with Dementia” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Downeast Horizons, 77 Union St. in Ellsworth.
The workshop provides an overview of dementia and brain function, the use of an assessment tool to assist in helping staff/caregivers/family structure activities and introduces the concept of behavior as communication.
The program is presented in partnership with Downeast Horizons, its Parent Alliance, the Alzheimer’s Association and Comfort Keepers.
The training is free and a light lunch will be provided.
