ELLSWORTH— Members of Occupy Ellsworth gathered Friday morning at the Myrick Street intersection across from the Walmart Supercenter as part of an ongoing effort seeking to have the retail giant increase its wages and benefits for its employees.

About 15 people came out to hold signs with messages such as “Boycott Black Friday” and “Walmart: Respect Our Community… Raise Your Workers’ Pay!” Group member John Curtis said the response from the public passing by had been “excellent,” with lots of honks of support and people giving thumbs up. “We have gotten more support today than ever before,” he said.
