ELLSWORTH — A Gouldsboro man’s blood alcohol content was more than four times the legal limit when he crashed into a tree on the way to see his probation officer last week, according to police.
Bradley Wilkinson, 43, of Gouldsboro was traveling north on Christian Ridge Road shortly before 1 p.m. Sept. 18, when he went to pull into Anderson Road and crashed his pickup into a tree near the entrance.
Wilkinson then continued on to the Maine Corrections Probation & Parole Office.
“He was heading in to do his check-in,” said Lt. Harold Page.
Officer Chris Smith observed bark and leaves in the truck’s damaged front end and a partially full bottle of Fleischmann’s raspberry-flavored vodka on the passenger side floor, according to court records. Wilkinson’s blood alcohol content was .39, according to police. The legal limit is .08. He was arrested on a charge of operating while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Wilkinson in 2010 pleaded guilty to a charge of arson in connection with a 2008 boat fire.
He is being held at Hancock County Jail pending a probation revocation hearing.
