STONINGTON — A gold and silversmith from Paris has opened a new gallery on Main Street, Gallery K, which will feature a European artist each summer.
Karolina Stefanski launched her namesake gallery on Aug. 3 at 70 Main St. in the former Eagle Gallery.
Stefanski said she thought bringing in a European artist would be “something different, something new, something fresh.”
“Give them a chance for exposure in such a prestigious artist area,” she said.
Stefanski recently graduated with a master’s degree in art from the Sorbonne University in Paris.
She grew up in Germany, attended college in Boston then worked at an art gallery in New York City before returning to Europe for her graduate studies.
