MOUNT DORA, FLA. — Sheila I. (Stanley) Hamor passed away at Florida Hospital Waterman, Tavares, Fla., in July 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 27, 1954, in Bar Harbor, to Foye W. Stanley Sr. and Thelma F. Leach Stanley.
She was employed at Wonderview Motel, Bar Harbor, when she was taken ill. She never complained while enduring the rigorous medical treatment she received and kept a positive attitude. Last year, she lost her dear husband and friend, Charles E. Hamor. She missed him dearly and spoke of him every day. She now will rest in peace as she joins Charlie and will smile that beautiful smile that she had while looking down upon us.
She was predeceased by sisters, Orches Stearns and Jennie Lennon; and brother, Wayne L. Stanley. She is survived by her sisters, Nyla and Ray A. Bickford Sr., and Sonya Clapp; brothers, Foye W. Stanley Jr., Alan Stanley, Deloren and Gale Stanley, Clayton and Nida Stanley; many nieces and nephews;, and special nephew, Sheldon R. Bickford. She also will be sadly missed by her best friends, Dick and Joanie Morrison and Wayne A. Taylor Sr.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 25, 2012, at Mount Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor, with the Rev. Victor C. Stanley officiating.
