MOUNT DESERT — Mount Desert Island artists and artisans will join forces with the MDI YMCA on the evening of Friday, July 27, for Island Arts Night at the Savage Boathouse in Northeast Harbor from 5 to 7 p.m.
The fund-raising event gives participants a chance to meet a wide variety of talented area artists, see their work and enjoy music, hors d’oeuvres and wine donated by MDI caterers and merchants.
The boathouse has been decked out with hanging sails, signal flags and, of course, the artist’s work.
Among the artists and artisans scheduled to be present, and eager to discuss their work that will also be on display, are: Jessica Savage Anderson, Joel Avila, R. Scott Baltz, Allen Beaman, John Bryan, Corinne Carbone, Lisa Hall, Ed Hawkes, Nicole Herz, Bethany Savage Kylver, Jack Ledbetter,
Helen Lee, Chessell Savage McGee, Jennifer Judd-McGee, Linden O’Ryan, Bill Sanborn, Ken Savage, Rick Savage, Marion Smith, Terry Stanley, Raymond Strout, William Townsend, Joseph Tracy, Barbara Trimble and Willa Vennema.
“Building on last year’s wildly successful Arts Night at the Asticou Gallery, we’ve put together an even bigger and better event for this summer,” said YMCA director Kim Harty. “It’s a rare chance to see so many talented people in one place and, best of all, it helps fund youth programs on Mount Desert Island.”
The event is hosted by the Asticou Connection Gallery of Bar Harbor, which is pictured above. For information on the event or supporting area youth, call 288-3511 or e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
