BAR HARBOR — A Mount Desert man faces burglary charges after allegedly stealing $700 and a bunch of lottery tickets from the Main Street Market Saturday night.
Police say Vincent A. Abbott, 38, had regular access to the market because he was an employee of the Fantail Pub next door, which is under the same ownership. He was captured on surveillance tape Saturday night, while the market was closed, pocketing the money and taking around 20 lottery tickets, Officer Thom Tardiff said.
Mr. Abbott also was summonsed on charges of theft by unauthorized taking and on charges of possession of scheduled drugs, including oxycodone, hydrocodone and amphetamine.
Read more about Mr. Abbott’s arrest in this week’s edition of the Mount Desert Islander, on newsstands and available via digital delivery Wednesday afternoon.
