Replacement Sought For House Race

Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 1:17 pm

ELLSWORTH — John Holt, the winner of the June 12 Democratic primary election for state representative for House District 34, which includes the towns of Gouldsboro, Hancock, Lamoine, Sorrento, Sullivan, Waltham and Winter Harbor, plus the unorganized territory of Fletchers Landing Township, has withdrawn, leaving a vacancy.

The Hancock County Democratic Party Committee is seeking a replacement candidate by 5 p.m. on July 23. The committee requests that candidate announce his or her willingness to fill the vacancy by calling the County Democratic Headquarters at 664-6012 as soon as possible.

The interested replacement candidate must be a registered voter and reside in one of the District 34 towns.
