SULLIVAN — Robert L. Havey, 65, of Sullivan passed away July 7, 2012, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born June 13, 1946, in Ellsworth, the son of Cecil K. Havey and Jessie B. Daley.
Bob was predeceased by his parents; sister, Charlene Zerrien; and brother, Gerald Daley; also biological father, Norris Havey.
Bob grew up in Sullivan and graduated from Sumner High School. He joined the U.S. Army and met his wife, Tong Su, in Seoul, Korea, where they fell in love and were married. Their daughter, Wendy Su, was born in Seoul. Once Bob was out of the Army, he and his family came back to Sullivan. His passion was antiques and he was an antique dealer for many years.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Tong Su, who took care of him every day and was a driving force in keeping him on task with his health issues; his pride and joy daughter, Wendy Havey-Leach, along with her husband, Tim, and his three beloved grandsons, Nicholas, Nathan and Sean; his brother, Raymond Daley and now deceased wife, Eleanor and family; brother, Cy Havey, and wife, Joan and family; sister-in-law, Martha and family; brother, James Havey, and family; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins, whom he loved dearly. Bob had many close friends who were like family, especially Tony, his BFF. Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Dialysis Center in Ellsworth. Bob adored all of you and enjoyed spoiling you as much as he could. Bob especially loved his three grandsons. He instilled in them a love of family and they will keep him in their hearts forever. We all love you and miss you.
Bob did not want a funeral. There will be a graveside remembrance 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Hillcrest Cemetery, East Side Road, Hancock, followed by a reception at the Sullivan Recreation Center. All are welcome to come and share memories of Bob. Bob wasn’t big on flowers Please become an organ donor.
