ORLAND — Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust will hold its annual meeting festivities on Sunday, July 15.
The public is invited to hike Great Pond Mountain at 10 a.m., to view the trust’s new 62-acre property on the Hay Ledges. For those who’d rather not climb, the trust will offer an optional short walk (or even drive) on the Dead River Trail to view the new meadows and see the south end of the new property.
Hikers should meet at Craig Brook National Fish Hatchery’s parking lot in East Orland, and bring water, snacks and sun protection.
The trust’s 19th annual meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Alamoosook Lakeside Inn in Orland with a dessert potluck, followed by officer elections, awards and updates on this year’s activities.
An Orland Dam Committee representative will offer a presentation on the committee’s work to determine the fate of the Orland Village Dam.
