Charges Filed After Man Eludes Officer

Written by  Steve Fuller Friday, June 22, 2012 at 3:19 pm

BUCKSPORT — A Waldo County man is facing several charges after he allegedly eluded police at a high rate of speed last week.

Sgt. David Winchester said police initially received a report of an erratic driver traveling toward downtown Bucksport on Route 15 (River Road) on the night of June 14.

Officer Matthew Cyr attempted to stop the driver of the vehicle, later identified as 24-year-old Tyson S. Servisky of Stockton Springs, but Winchester said that Servisky chose not to stop.

Cyr pursued Servisky, but the 24-year-old was not located until later on when he was arrested by officers in Waldo County on prior charges.

Winchester said that as a result of his alleged actions in Bucksport, Servisky was additionally charged with driving to endanger, criminal speeding and eluding an officer.

Assault Investigated

On June 15, around 9 p.m., police received a report of an assault and theft on Buck Street.

According to Winchester, the items that were reported stolen have since been returned and the alleged assault remains under investigation.

Taking Care of Turtles

On June 12, a Central Street resident called the Public Safety Building shortly before 7:30 a.m. “requesting an escort for a turtle crossing the road.”

Two days later, around 9:30 a.m., Animal Control Officer Dan Joy was dealing with a “turtle relocation” on Transfer Station Road.

Dirty Laundry

Shortly after noon on June 14, a caller reported that “someone put up a clothesline between two light poles” on the waterfront.

Canines Give Chase

On June 12, around 12:30 p.m., an officer responded to Cross Road for a complaint of “two dogs chasing a male on a bicycle.”

Anthony M. Pollard, 21, of Orland was arrested June 13 on a probation hold.
