DOVER-FOXCROFT — The fourth-ranked Foxcroft Academy Ponies rallied from a two-run deficit to edge the MDI Trojans.
MDI scored in every one of the first five innings to build a 6-4 lead, but the Ponies knotted the score in the bottom of the sixth on run-scoring singles by Ryan Rebar and Hunter Law.
After their strong start, the Trojans were handcuffed the rest of the way by Kaleb Smith, who pitched four innings of two-hit relief after coming on in the fifth inning.
Smith also sparked the winning rally for the Ponies, opening the bottom of the eighth with a single.
Walks to Caleb Richard and Rebar then loaded the bases and Law followed with a run-scoring single to win it for Foxcroft.
Law drove in five runs for the Ponies with a double and two singles and Rebar finished with three singles.
Cam Crawford had a double and two singles, Nick Shaw and Colin Mooers each singled twice and Ben Walls drove in a pair of runs for the Trojans, who finished the season with a 10-8 record.
