ELLSWORTH — On Monday, the MDI Trojans upped their record to 9-5 with a 4-1 semifinal win over the sixth-ranked Foxcroft Academy Ponies.
The only loss for the Trojans came at third singles with Foxcroft’s Stephen Sharrow besting Sampson in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-2.
Winning for MDI were Luke Horton over Colby Bombero 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) at first singles; Garrett Lee over Jaiyang Lu 0-6, 6-2, 6-1 at second singles; Andrew Dalton and Woofie Kaiser over Sam Keane and Hyuk Woo Choi 6-1, 6-2 at first doubles; and Caleb Cough and Kyle Greaves over Joshua Bombero and Atticus Dennis 6-2, 6-4 at second doubles.
