BAR HARBOR — A new FM radio station has started in Bar Harbor. WRMO FM, “The Wave,” at 93.3 broadcasts the greatest hits from 1971 to 1992, with Casey Kasem’s American Top 40 from the 1980s on Saturdays and the 1970s on Sundays.
The station is owned by Pine Tree Broadcasting, a business venture of Charles Begin, who tried unsuccessfully in recent years to start a low-powered AM station broadcasting from the roof of Reel Pizza Cinerama. The Wave broadcasts out of a tower in Franklin, and the station is setting up a permanent studio in Bar Harbor.
