BUCKSPORT — A wide range of animal complaints were called in to the Bucksport Public Safety Building in the past week.
On May 22, one caller advised that there were “cattle on someone’s lawn” on Bucksmills Road, while that same day a caller on Route 46 reported a “dog with quills had been dropped off at her residence” that morning.
Also on May 22, a Central Street called regarding a missing rabbit.
Two days later, a caller alerted authorities that a large brown and black shepherd mix was running loose by the ball field on Elm Street.
On May 26, someone reported there were two dogs running around loose on Route 1, while someone on Marsh Road said that there was a “sick-looking raccoon hanging out by some horses.”
Lastly, on May 28 a someone came in to the Public Safety Building with a “dog that has been running around loose for three weeks” in the Franklin Street area.
Alleged Egging Leads to Arrest
After police received a report from a Main Street resident that a house was egged on May 23, Heather Mullen, 25, of Bucksport, was arrested for disorderly conduct.
No Arrests After Altercation
A 911 call reporting a dispute at Tozier’s II just after 1 a.m. on May 27 led to warnings being issued but no arrests, according to police.
Thefts and Vandalism
Copper was reported stolen from a Millvale Road location on May 22, and two days later a resident on the same road called regarding a theft of oil.
Also on May 24, a Ledgewood Drive resident reported a theft of wood. On May 25, a Pond Street resident reported that a mailbox had been vandalized.
‘Click it or Ticket’ Results
As part of the department’s seat belt enforcement campaign, 17 summonses were issued to 14 motorists last week for a variety of motor vehicle violations (not just seat belt violations).
Arrests
Brenden Russell, 19, of Bucksport was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an earlier charge of failure to register a motor vehicle.
Barret W. Bridges, 33, of Verona Island was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear in court on an earlier unspecified charge.
Robert Joseph, 40, no address given was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.
Matt Gray, 23, of Bucksport was arrested for possession of drugs.
