DOVER-FOXCROFT — River Plouffe Vogel was a two-time winner, leading the George Stevens Academy boys to a fourth place finish at Saturday’s Penobscot Valley Conference Small Schools Outdoor Track Championships at Foxcroft Academy.
The Orono Red Riots took top honors in the boys’ meet with 134 points, followed by Foxcroft 93, Central 56, GSA 52, Mattanawcook Academy 47, Bangor Christian 43, Washington Academy 37, Penquis 32, John Bapst 30, Dexter 18, Sumner 17, Piscataquis 16, Bucksport 7 and Fort Kent 1.
Also winning for the Eagle boys was Benjamin Plohr, who placed first in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.55 seconds.
Plohr also was third in the 110-meter hurdles in 17.12 seconds and fifth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:59.87.
Others who scored for GSA:
Sam Stahnke was second in the 3,200-meter run in 10:43.87.
The foursome of Paul Ferreira, Devon Oppedisanbo, Stahnke and Plohr was fifth in the four-by-400-meter relay in 3:53.18.
Baxter Forrest was fifth in the 1,600-meter racewalk in 11:36.40.
Corey An was sixth in the long jump at 17 feet, 9.5 inches and sixth in the triple jump at 34 feet.
Taylor Lee led the scoring for the Sumner Tigers, placing second in the 800-meter run in 2:11.80 and fourth in the 1,600-meter run in 4:54.11.
Lee also combined with Baramee Janla, John San Diego and Brandon Wade for second in the four-by-400-meter relay in 3:47.40.
San Diego was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 44.71 seconds and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.69 seconds.
Anthony Balsam was fifth in the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, .5 inch.
For Bucksport, Paul Fitzgerald was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 138 feet, 6 inches.
In the girls’ meet, Liana Arquette of GSA was the lone county winner, placing first in the shot put with a throw of 31 feet, 5 inches and third in the javelin with a throw of 86 feet, 10 inches.
In team competition, Orono led the way with 208.5 points, followed by John Bapst 142.5, Central 40, Foxcroft 36, Fort Kent 31, GSA 24, Bucksport, Dexter and Bangor Christian 18, Mattanawcook 17, Penquis 13, Washington Academy 12, Piscataquis 4 and Sumner with no score.
Other scorers for GSA:
The foursome of Lilly Cousins, Charcy Ye, Hannah Maiden and Joan Liu was third in the four-by-800-meter relay in 13:36.68.
Nicole Bakeman was sixth in the 1,600-meter run in 5:57.28 and sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:43.91.
For Bucksport, Lisa Tapley was second in the high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches, and Taylor Ziegler-Miller placed second in the javelin with a throw of 93 feet, 2 inches, and fifth in the shot put with a throw of 26 feet, 9.75 inches.
The State Class C Outdoor Track Championships will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cony High School in Augusta.
