DEER ISLE — Senior righthander Sydney Ouzts pitched a one-hitter and notched the 500th strikeout of her career as the Mariners stayed unbeaten with an 11-0 win over the Searsport Vikings on Thursday.
Ouzts struck out 10 batters, walked nobody and gave up a single to Becky Grant.
For the Mariners, Chelsea Brown drove in five runs with a home run, a triple and a single, Janelle Ciomei tripled twice with an RBI and Sarah Boutilier singled with two RBI.
Ouzts achieved her strikeout milestone in just three seasons with the Mariners.
