BLUE HILL — 2012 is the 250th anniversary of Blue Hill and Blue Hill Consolidated School students are holding a parade Friday to celebrate the event.
The parade, which starts at 1:30 p.m., follows the school’s theme for 2012, “Go Local,” said school librarian Beth Jackson.
Each grade will highlight an aspect of Blue Hill’s geography, history or culture. The event will also feature T-shirts designed by sixth-graders Mary Richardson and Kara Morrison and donated by the Parents, Teachers, Friends Group.
The marchers will be accompanied by BHCS jazz musicians and Planet Pan Steelband.
The students will march from the school to Pleasant Street to Main Street and back up to the school again with a stop at the Town Hall to extend anniversary greetings to the Board of Selectmen and town employees.
