MOUNT DESERT — The W.P. Stewart estate in Northeast Harbor opens its gates to the public for the 11th annual Spring Garden Tour during the first two Saturdays in June this year.
The event, formerly known as the Spring Bulb Tour, highlights areas of the estate’s gardens never before open to the public. The tour runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 2 and again on Saturday, June 9 at the estate which is at 32 Sargeant Dr.
This year’s host is the Abbe Museum of Bar Harbor. The nonprofit institution will receive all proceeds from the event. The suggested donation for admission is $15.
“We truly appreciate the Stewarts opening up their beautiful property to the public for this event. This is a unique and wonderful way to support local nonprofits and make difference in our community,” said Hannah Whalen, the Abbe museum’s director of development. “We’re excited because it helps to raise the visibility of the Abbe and joins us with some other great nonprofits that have carried the torch in the past.”
