Film Series to Conclude June 7

Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11:19 am

BLUE HILL — The Friends of the Blue Hill Public Library Film Series concludes for the season on Thursday, June 7, at 7 p.m. with the Marx Brothers’ political satire comedy “Duck Soup” (1933).

The film is a satire of blundering dictators, fascism and authoritarian governments. Mussolini was insulted enough to ban the film in Italy. Now widely considered the Marx Brothers’ best film, it was a box office disappointment and critical flop when it first came out.

All films are shown free of charge in the library’s Howard Room.
