Lady Bucks Too Much For Eagles

Written by  Hugh Bowden Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 2:37 pm

ELLSWORTH — Bucksport’s Cassidy Adams turned in yet another strong performance on Tuesday, pitching a five-hitter in a 15-1 win over the host Ellsworth Eagles.

The Bucks jumped in front in the first inning as Mindy Pye beat out an infield single and scored when the Eagles misplayed a bunt by Shelby Redman.

Bucksport added three more runs in the second, two of them coming again on a misplayed bunt and the third on a single by Redman.

The Eagles got their lone run in the bottom of the inning as Emily Berry lined a double and scored on a single by Sam McGuire.

But the Bucks continued to score at least one run in every inning, with a grand slam homer by Sadie Wight the big blow of the game.

Bailey Blair and Debbie Wight each singled twice for Bucksport, and Ashlee Leighton-Bragg had a double for Ellsworth.
