DEER ISLE — The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners snapped a 1-1 tie with three runs in the fourth inning and went on to notch a 9-1 victory over the Sumner Tigers on Thursday.

Sumner got its lone run in the first inning against Mariner righthander Joe Condon.

With one out, Tristan Rayner walked, stole second and scored on a single by Dillan Harmon.

The Mariners knotted the score in the bottom of the second as Kyle Seile singled, advanced on an error and scored on a single by Kevin Melanio.

In the fourth, the Mariners pushed three runs across on a double by Nathan Davis, an RBI single by Sam Grindle, and run-scoring singles by Hayden Ciomei and Connor Morey.

The Mariners batted around the order in the fifth, scoring five more runs on singles by Seile, Davis, Condon and Jake Starkey, a double by Grindle and two Sumner errors.

Condon got the win for the Mariners, pitching five innings and allowing just one Sumner hit.

Aaron Leighton and Joey Malloy each singled for the Tigers.
