Bakeman Wins 400

HAMPDEN — At Hampden Academy on Friday, Anthony Cultrera of the Sumner Tigers collected a pair of wins as the Tiger boys finished fourth in an eight-team meet.

Trisha Bakeman of the George Stevens Academy Eagles races to victory in the 400-meter run at Hampden.Cultrera won the 100-meter dash in 11.82 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 23.58 seconds.

In team scoring, the host Broncos were easy winners with 280 points, followed by Old Town 116, Calais 56, Sumner 43, Penquis 30, George Stevens Academy 20, Piscataquis 16 and Narraguagus 6.


In the girls’ meet, Trisha Bakeman of the GSA Eagles was the lone local winner, placing first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:09.23.

In team scoring, Hampden led the way with 239 points, followed by Old Town 178, Piscataquis 41, GSA 31, Calais 23, Narraguagus 14, Sumner 8 and Penquis 6.
