BAR HARBOR —– Bar Harbor Bank & Trust will be hosting the 19th annual David Harding Memorial Golf Tournament on Tuesday at Kebo Valley Golf Club. Proceeds from this charity tournament benefit the James C. MacLeod Scholarship Fund, being established in Jim’s memory for graduates of Mount Desert Island High School.
This charity golf tournament has attracted a broad base of community support. Sponsors include R.L. White and Son; Maine Coast Memorial Hospital; Royal Promotions Inc.; Dunbar and Sons Excavating; Birch Bay Village; R.H. Foster – Hilltop on the Run; Carroll Harper and Associates, Inc.; Gross, Minsky and Mogul, P.A.; Bangor Daily News and Consumer Title. In addition there are more than two dozen hole sponsors, and more than a dozen raffle prizes have been donated.
Mr. MacLeod, was an avid golfer and a member of the board of directors of Bar Harbor Bank and Trust for 37 years, as well as a longterm employee; vice president of marketing and public relations for 15 years.
This is a scramble format tournament with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start and is open to women and men. Registration is $85 per person and includes golf cart, gifts, snack, evening barbecue and prizes. There are two hole-in-one contests; one for a Vespa S50 Scooter from Stanley Scooters and another for a 2012 Chevy Cruze Eco from Darling’s Chevrolet.
