Allen Runs Away with Sub-3 Race

TACOMA, Wash — At the Tacoma City Marathon in Washington State, 55-year-old Gary Allen of the Cranberry Isles, finished in seventh place overall, his 65th career sub 3 hour performance moved him to eighth in the world for longest time span between first and last sub 3 hour marathons as compiled by the Association of Road Race Statisticians, a total span of 33 years 289 days.
