ELLSWORTH — A new oil change business opened Monday at the location of the former Mr. Quick’s Oil Lube on High Street.
While the business did not yet have a name on opening day, it had a clear mission.
“We want the place to be known as really clean and friendly,” said Manager Chuck Pratt.
Pratt has worked next door as parts manager at Town Auto. The owner of the new business is John F. Partridge Jr.
Former Mr. Quick’s employee Mike Igoe Sr. will work at the shop as a technician.
The business offers oil and filter changes. A basic oil change is $29.95. The shop also carries wiper blades, air filters and different grades of oil.
Pratt said the plan is to increase the number of products and services over time.
He said the shop will be environmentally friendly and employees will not use pushy sales tactics.
As a convenience and courtesy to customers, employees will make note of problems they see with a vehicle so the owner can have the vehicle serviced elsewhere.
Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 667-5789.
