ORONO — The Orono Red Riots spoiled a superb pitching performance by GSA lefthander Ben Olivari, coming up with three sixth-inning runs to edge the Eagles 3-2 on Monday.
Working on a no-hitter with two outs in the sixth, Olivari walked Dom Mowrer and then gave up an RBI single to Justin White.
Tyler Eddy then walked and Cam Dwyer lofted a two-run double to left that gave the Red Riots the lead — and one inning later, the game.
Eddy also went the distance for Orono, allowing just three hits.
GSA scored a run in the first when Schuyler Van der Eb scored on a fielder’s choice, and Ben Eley reached on an error and scored on a single by Loriman Looke in the third.
