WALTHAM — Robert J. Cyr, “RJ,” 37, died May 14, 2012, at his residence in Waltham. He was born May 20, 1974, in Stamford, Conn., the son of Robert P. Cyr and Ann-Marie Britton.
RJ graduated from Bethel High School in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, fishing and rescuing animals. He was very creative and liked doing carpentry. He was the animal control officer in Waltham.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Lauren (Sullivan) Cyr; father, Robert P. Cyr and wife, Sharon Hazzard Cyr; sister, Jennifer Barboza of Bethel, Conn.; half-sister, Kristy Britton of Naugatuck, Conn.; stepbrother, Matthew Hazzard of Norwalk, Conn.; father-in-law, John Sullivan of Norwalk, Conn.; brothers-in-law, John Sullivan and wife, Katherine, of Naples, Fla., and Chris Sullivan of Norwalk, Conn.; nephews, Gabriel Barboza of Bethel, Conn., and Matthew Hazzard Jr. of Norwalk, Conn.; nieces, Isabella Barboza of Bethel, Conn., and Aaliyah Hazzard of Norwalk, Conn. RJ will be greatly missed by his friends and family as well as his adored dogs, Sway, Frosty, Zeke and Avery. He was predeceased by his beloved dog, Princess.
