ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth ATA Martial Arts will host a Kids Kick for Kids night at Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School Saturday, May 19, at 5 p.m.
The event, being billed as the “1st Annual Ninja Recital,” will raise money for educational programs for children with autism and pervasive developmental disorder.
One parent described the show as “a martial arts musical” in which choreographed martial arts moves are set to music.
In addition to the show, there will be silent and Chinese auctions featuring items donated by local businesses.
The Ellsworth ATA demonstration team includes about 20 members who logged more than 70 hours of practice in preparation for the show. Additionally, students raised more than $500 by collecting donations and holding bottle drives and group sales.
Individual show tickets are $6, two for $10, three for $13 or four for $15.
Proceeds benefit Special Children’s Friends and the Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School Sun Room and Star Room.
