Mariaville-Otis News of Neighbors

Written by  Bonnie Robinson Monday, May 14, 2012 at 2:17 pm

The Otis Baptist Church is reintroducing its popular outreach event, Free 4 All. This free garage “sale” will resume on May 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will continue throughout the summer on the second Saturday of each month. They will be open by chance on other days or by appointment. It has moved from the church proper to the home of Sharon Jankunas at 239 Otis Road. To donate, please call Sharon at 537-5452.

Gently used clothing, books, games, toys, household items and tools will be appreciated. They are unable to accept food, electronics and baby items. If you need something on a day other than a scheduled day, please call Sharon and she will be happy to accommodate you. I hope to stop in on opening day to drop off a few items, say hello and most likely leave with more than I drop off.

Any hummingbird sightings yet? We’re ready and have been for several weeks, hoping that one early bird caught a fair wind north on one of those 80-degree April days. If you care to follow their progress go to www.hummingbirds.net/map.html. Another fun site is the live hummingbird nest cam at www.ustream.tv/hummingbirdnestcam.
