BAR HARBOR — Island Connections, a nonprofit service group providing transportation for area seniors and others, has a new executive director.

Carrie Limeburner has been easing into her new role since March, and will be introduced officially at the group’s annual tea and popover event at the Jordan Pond House next Thursday, May 17.

Ms. Limeburner, a Maine native, has worked in the public wellness field for many years. She is dedicated to building healthy communities and “making a difference,” she said, and was attracted to the success Island Connections has had with its efforts to do those very things.

“It’s a great organization. It really has such heart,” Ms. Limeburner said. “They’ve been able to sustain this organization since the early ’90s, and they’re still going strong. Just to be part of that makes it all worthwhile.”
