ELLSWORTH — The city Planning Board May 2 approved plans for a new store on the Marden’s property and began deliberations on proposed apartments on Shore Road.
The Marden’s project would involve construction of a 9,000-square-foot retail building adjacent to the local Marden’s.
Craig Burgess, general manager of Marden’s stores, said last week that the application was for planning purposes. The company does not have any firm plans to build at this time, he said. A potential building occupant has not been announced.
The Planning Board spent much of last week’s meeting discussing Patrick Jordan’s application to build a six-unit apartment building on Shore Road.
Board members discussed drainage from the property and the project’s potential effect on an old culvert.
Deliberations on the application will continue at the board’s June meeting.
