Ellsworth Boys, GSA Girls and Boys Top High School Tennis Standings

ELLSWORTH — The unbeaten Ellsworth Eagle boys and the once-beaten George Stevens Academy Eagle boys and girls all sit atop the Eastern Maine tennis standings.

Over the past week, the 6-0 Ellsworth boys topped GSA 4-1 and scored 5-0 shutouts over the John Bapst Crusaders and the Sumner Tigers.

The GSA boys upped their record to 7-1 with 5-0 wins over Orono and Dexter.

The Ellsworth girls upped their record to 4-2 with 4-1 wins over GSA and John Bapst and a 5-0 sweep of Sumner.

On Saturday, the Eastern Maine regional singles elimination tournament will be played at various sites in Bangor, Brewer and Hermon.

Players will report at the University of Maine in Orono at 8 a.m. and play will get under way at 8:30.
