ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Eagles downed the George Stevens Academy Eagles 4-1 on Wednesday.
The match of the day was a 9-7 comeback win by Ellsworth’s Alec and Evan Toothaker at second doubles.
The freshman duo trailed GSA’s Nick Dillon and Ed Lamayer 7-4 and held off two match points as they rallied to win five consecutive games.
Other winners for Ellsworth were Tyler Small over Johnny Xue 8-2 at first singles, Tyler Beardsley over Alex Heilner 8-5 at third singles, and Brandan Albee and Dustin Murphy over Jason Gao and Roy Xu 8-1 at first doubles.
GSA’s Jasper Adam downed Dillon Toothaker 8-4 at second singles.
