BAR HARBOR — Mr. and Mrs. James Scott Buttram III of Tuscaloosa, Ala. announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaux MacMillan Buttram to Gregory Scott Shelton of Bar Harbor, son of Rebecca Jane MacQuinn and the late Richard Allen Shelton of Bar Harbor.

The wedding will be at 7 p.m. on June 23, 2012 in Tuscaloosa.

The bride is the granddaughter of Roberta G. Elkin and the late Frederick Gerald Elkin of Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada and the late James and Lettie Buttram, Sr. of Bessemer, Ala. She is a 1997 graduate of Tuscaloosa Academy and attended Brevard College North Carolina, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership in 2001. She was

presented at the Holiday Cotillion in 2000.

The groom is the grandson of the late Harold and Henrietta MacQuinn and the late Charles and Laura Shelton of Bar Harbor.

He is a 1991 graduated of Mount Desert Island High School and attended Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, where he received a bachelor’s degree in marine engineering in 1997. He is employed  by Alstom Wind Energy in Richmond, Va.
