Written by  Fenceviewer Staff Tuesday, May 08, 2012 at 10:21 am

BAR  HARBOR — Riley Heist and Colin Mooers have been chosen as students of the month for April at Mount Desert Island High School.

Ms. Heist is described as a genuine, cheerful spirit who uplifts those around her. She is a gifted listener who uses this talent to bring balance to a variety of groups. She seeks to include others and is determined that all voices be heard. She does not back away from challenges, whether they be demanding academically or physically. Through determination and effort, Riley has become a fierce contender in the sport of diving and an outstanding member of our school community.

Mr. Mooers models the qualities of an outstanding school citizen. He has a positive attitude toward everything and everyone. He is thoughtful, respectful, and genuine. His presence elevates the tone in the classroom, the halls of the school, and the playing field. He has gained academic and athletic success through hard work, self discipline and motivation. We are proud to highlight his many contributions to our school community.
