ELLSWORTH — A unique music venue, 430 Bayside, will be featured on “The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” on May 12 at 11:30 p.m. on WABI-TV 5 in Bangor, and at 10 p.m. on WPXT-TV 51 in Portland.
“The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” is usually taped in front of a live studio audience at the Next Generation Theatre in Brewer and is produced by students and faculty from the New England School of Communications in Bangor.
Last winter, however, Cashman held a contest in which the winner would be “awarded” with a “Nite Show” taping at his or her home. Steve Peer, the entrepreneur behind 430 Bayside, won the contest and a “house concert” featuring the Ellsworth-based band The Larks and Trenton lumberjill Tina “Timber Tina” Scheer were in the lineup for the evening’s entertainment.
“They brought an audio crew and a video crew from the New England School of Communications and they essentially transformed my house into a TV studio,” Peer recalled.
“The Nite Show with Danny Cashman” is modeled after national late night talk shows like those hosted by the late Johnny Carson, David Letterman and Conan O’ Brien. The show has been on the air for nearly two years in its current form. For more info, visit www.theniteshowmaine.com.
