ADDISON — The Beth C. Wright Cancer Resource Center’s 12th Annual Walk For Life, to benefit the free services the center provides to people affected by cancer in Hancock and Washington counties, will take place in Addison on Saturday, May 19.
Registration will begin at the Addison Town Hall at 8:30 a.m.
There is no fee to walk and everyone is invited to participate in the event.
The walk is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and participants may choose from two-mile or five-mile course options.
Members of the Narraguagus High School National Honor Society will be helping with the bake sale, face painting and craft projects for children.
Outside there will be kiddie train rides and a demonstration by Downeast Area Jazzercize.
At the Masonic Hall, a huge variety of Chinese auction items will be featured. There will also be a 50/50 cash raffle in which the winner splits the pot with the Beth Wright Center.
The University of Machias Ukulele Club will perform on stage in the Masonic Hall. Just across the street, at the Addison Town Hall, will be a barbecue lunch and music by DJ Clyde.
Ron Carpenter is also coordinating a lobster raffle to benefit the center. All prizes will be drawn at the Masonic Hall beginning at 1 p.m.
