Attention Class of 2012! If you attended for a minimum of one year and graduated from Beech Hill School, you are eligible for a scholarship to help you further your education. But, do not delay. The deadline is May 1. Please e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call Rich Cole at 537-2245 for more information.

The Beech Hill School PTC has been busy organizing many end-of-the-year activities. On Saturday, May 5, the traditional Irish/Scottish band MacLir will play at the school at 7 p.m. Admission is by donation. In addition to the band’s uplifting music, drinks and desserts are included.

The ever-popular Muffins for Moms event will take place at the school on Friday, May 11, from 7-7:30 a.m. All area moms and their children are welcome. They will enjoy muffins, drinks and a complimentary photo together. The event is free of charge.

The PTC is currently working with Mrs. Pothier to organize a Read-A-Thon to earn funds to bring an author to the school next fall. This week the students are seeking sponsors, and from April 24-May 7 they will do their reading. If they meet their personal goals they will earn a new book and pencil, and if they meet their classroom goal, they will earn an ice cream social with a member of the community coming in to read to them. Everyone who participates will have their name entered into a drawing for scholastic gift cards for the lower grades and a Kindle for the upper grades. They are hoping to begin the next school year with a wonderful visit from an author.

The eighth grade class will appreciate any donation of baked goods to help with their fund-raising bake sale on April 28.  Please call Nicole Pothier at school (537-2203) if you can help. This event will take place at the PTC yard sale and word has it that there are still tables available. Please call Stacie at 537-5202, and shoppers, make sure to stop by for some fun shopping and to show your support for the PTC and the eighth grade.
