ELLSWORTH â An Ellsworth man learned Saturday that his alleged use of a stolen truck to get his Jeep unstuck was not a good idea.
According to Trooper Christopher Smith, Jack âJDâ Wentworth Jr., 26, crashed a Jeep Grand Cherokee in Waltham. Wentworth then allegedly broke into a garage near the accident scene and stole the truck, which he then used in an unsuccessful attempt to free the Jeep. The truck later was found on a woods road in Sullivan.
After interviewing Wentworth, the trooper arrested him on charges of burglary, unauthorized use of property and criminal mischief.
OUI
An Eastbrook woman was arrested Saturday on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant after police responded to a complaint that someone was causing problems at a home in Hancock.
Sheri Snow, 41, was arrested on the charge while diving away from the residence.
The Dog Did It
A report Friday of a burglary in Otis proved unfounded when police determined the family dog had damaged items in the home.
Thefts
Derek Bradford, 27, of Trenton was summoned Friday on a theft charge after an investigation into a complaint in Hancock.
The tenant of an apartment in Trenton returned April 23 after six months absence to find the home had been broken into and items taken. Police obtained a search warrant for a neighboring apartment and recovered some of the stolen items. The investigation is ongoing.
A check was taken during the burglary of a home in Franklin that was reported April 24.
OAS
Maine Marine Patrol officers assisted Trooper Michael Southard April 26 in issuing a summons to a man on a boat off the coast near Frenchboro. Aaron Maguire, 20, was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension.
Woman Summoned
Calandra Fitzgerald, 31, no given address, was issued a summons April 26 charging her with theft and violation of bail conditions in connection with an April 15 shoplifting complaint in Stonington.
Arrest
Joshua Crabtree, 31, of Franklin was arrested April 24 on a Hancock County warrant charging him with failing to pay fines.
