BAR HARBOR — The fourth annual MDI Basketball Golf Scramble is set for Saturday, May 19, at Kebo Valley Golf Club to benefit the Mount Desert Island High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams.
All proceeds from the tournament will be used to assist the MDI basketball programs in covering tournaments and league costs, referee pay, coaches clinics, and players camps, among other costs that otherwise could fall on the basketball players themselves.
“They can’t imagine how appreciated these donations are,” said coach Justin Norwood. “It really is a testament to how great our community is, that businesses would be willing to put up $150 to sponsor a hole. I can’t thank them enough.”
