BLUE HILL — On Saturday, May 12, children from the greater Hancock County area will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite big rigs.
A Touch-a-Truck event will be held in the Blue Hill Consolidated School parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Local participants will include ME Astbury & Sons, local trucker Ryan Austin, the Blue Hill Fire Department and Peninsula Ambulance Corps, Chris Neihoff with his assortment of Army vehicles and Friend and Friend of Ellsworth.
Excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, a school bus, diggers, fire trucks, ATVs and more will be parked in the school parking lot for children to explore.
The event, sponsored by the Peninsula Montessori School in Sedgwick, costs $5 per family. Proceeds from the event will be applied to the school’s scholarship fund.
Rain date for the event is Saturday, May 19.
