Police said they were checking the Navy base property because of numerous instances of theft and vandalism and saw a blue Dodge pickup truck parked and the two men walking in the area.

Police said they found miscellaneous wire and pipes in the rear of the truck with a value of $5 to $10, along with a crowbar, bolt cutters and a large wrench.

Police said they didn’t see anyone when they arrived.

Police said the girlfriend told them she took her passport and that of her daughter, but left the boyfriend’s behind in a cabinet.

Fireworks Hazard

A Prospect Harbor man told police April 19 that someone in the neighborhood was setting off fireworks and he was worried the explosives might start a fire in the dry woods.

Police said the person using the fireworks told them he bought the bottle rocket-type fireworks out of state and that he didn’t have any more.

Police were asked to be on the lookout April 18 for a red pickup truck that was reported to be driving all over the road in Sullivan and was headed toward Gouldsboro.

Police said they never spotted the truck.

Police said they spotted the driver, stopped him and told him to drive more carefully.

911 Calls

Police received a 911 cell phone call from the area of South Gouldsboro Road April 11 but said they didn’t find anything that concerned them.

Police received a 911 cell phone call the day before in the vicinity of South Gouldsboro Road, but when they called the number the woman who answered said she was at her home in Lamoine.

Police received a 911 hang-up call April 16 from a home on West Bay Road. Police said the owner told them her 2-year-old daughter was playing with the phone and dialed the number accidentally.
