BLUE HILL — On Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at the Blue Hill Public Library five distinguished readers will kick off the night at an event titled “Necessities,” dedicated to the work of poet Adrienne Rich (1929-2012).
BLUE HILL — On Friday, May 11, at 7 p.m. at the Blue Hill Public Library five distinguished readers will kick off the night at an event titled “Necessities,” dedicated to the work of poet Adrienne Rich (1929-2012).
The readings will be followed by open time for anyone who would like to share Rich’s work.
The readers will be poet Beatrix Gates, arts proponents Linda Nelson and Judith Jerome, poet Lee Starkey and film archivist, writer, and editor Sharon Thompson.
The event is being organized by Gates and is being co-sponsored by the library.
There is no charge and all are welcome.
Also at the library, artistic bookmaker Anne-Claude Cotty will conduct a second bookmaking workshop for adults and children age 8 and up on Saturday, May 12, from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The workshop will have the theme “Gardens in Bloom.”
The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required.
